Since 1982, CSR Garage Inc. Has proudly served Las Cruces, New Mexico, as a family-owned and operated automotive service center. Founded by Mike and Kathy Hulbert in their home garage, CSR Garage has grown steadily into the full-service facility it is today known for honest, reliable car care across a wide range of makes and models.
Our History and Commitment
In 1982 Mike and Kathy Hulbert got married and Mike and his best friend and business partner Gary started CSR Garage, initially located in the garage at Mike and Kathy’s home. In 1987 Gary died tragically in an automobile accident. At that time, Mike and Kathy made the decision to keep CSR Garage open, with Kathy stepping in as Mike’s new business partner. In 1994, they built the shop where CSR has been operating since.
Mike and Kathy’s son, Tony, along with his wife, Katie are the current managers of CSR Garage. They are working hard to continue to provide the high quality of service that customers of CSR Garage have come to expect.

Mike and Kathy
Semi-retired Owners of CSR Garage. Currently focusing on spoiling grandchildren and captaining the CSR Golf Team.
Tony
Shop foreman and ADAS/Computer programming specialist. Tony has 30+ years of experience with all makes and models, foreign, domestic and exotic. He is constantly learning and researching the newest automotive technology. If there is a vehicular mystery to solve, he’s your guy.
Katie
Former middle school teacher turned service writer and office manager. Katie keeps the front office at CSR running smoothly, thanks to the training she received from Kathy more than 12 years ago. Her teaching experience hasn’t gone to waste, helping to organize our apprenticeship program as well. Besides, wrangling middle schoolers and auto techs requires roughly the same skill set.
Ted
Automotive technician for 30+ years, specializing in European vehicles. Ted knows his way around Subaru too. On the weekends you can catch him at the local dirt track where he is the crew chief for a modified racecar.
Benny
This cool cat has had at least 9 lives. While Benny started out as a chef fixing lasagnas and enchiladas, he’s been fixing cars for more than 35 years. He is partial to GM vehicles but will happily diagnose and repair any make and model. He’s a carburetor rebuild specialist, but his culinary specialties are chile con carne and his secret salsa recipe.
Jeremiah
From a 16-year-old porter to a full-grown technician, Jeremiah has successfully completed our apprenticeship program with flying colors! He is a wiring wiz and electrical enthusiast. He puts his learning to good use every day on all makes and models but is particularly enamored with Fords and Toyotas.
Bryce
Our newest member of the team, Bryce, is a fantastic lube tech and technician’s apprentice. He specializes in vehicle inspections and preventative maintenance. He is an enthusiastic, quick learner and is working hard in our apprenticeship program.
Miguel
Porter and inventory specialist. Miguel works tirelessly to keep our shop clean as a whistle and our inventory in check. He runs a tight ship, and steers a safe, comfortable courtesy shuttle. Miguel is happy to take customers home or to work after they drop their vehicles off for maintenance. And from customer reviews, we hear he is a five-star chauffeur.
